arcomie

Arcomie is a small river from Auvergne, ending up feeding the Truyere river.

This machine was offered to me during an event in Lyon, in 2002. As my fastest PA-RISC machine, back then, was a 715/100/XC (boron), I gladly accepted. This was also my first PA-RISC machine with PCI slots.
Many years later, after the power supply of the J210 system caught fire and killed the system, I was able to increase its memory from 64MB to a comfortable 192MB.

This machine was used as my OpenBSD/hppa build machine for about three years, until I got a C240 (turbulence). Since then, it has not seen much use, except for semi-regular testing to make sure there were no regressions in that particular model support in OpenBSD.
Unfortunately, the on-board SCSI controller uses HVD (high-voltage differential) SCSI disks, of which I don't have many; this explains why it has a very small disk, compared to other systems in use in my machineroom.
However, maybe this system can boot off a PCI 53C8xx board connected to "normal" LVD disks... this is something to try eventually!
